Feeling Overwhelmed?
We offer caring, judgement-free support available in person or online. Ready to talk it through?
Initial Assessment
I start with an initial assessment to get to know your teen, their challenges, goals, and what kind of support they might need. The first few minutes include both the teen and a parent or guardian to provide comfort and context. Afterward, the teen will have the rest of the session to talk one-on-one and share what’s happening in their life in a comfortable, confidential space.
Building Trust
Trust and rapport are at the heart of sound therapy. I create a safe, judgment-free space where teens feel truly heard, respected, and supported. With open conversations, humor, attention to detail, and steady guidance, I help teens learn healthy ways to cope, express themselves confidently, and strengthen their relationships at home, school, and in everyday life.
Ongoing Support
Therapy continues with regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions, depending on your teen’s needs and progress. Each session builds on the one before and is guided by goals we create together. Because life can be unpredictable, we stay flexible, adjusting our focus as things arise. The aim is lasting growth, emotional resilience, and helping teens build the confidence and tools they need to navigate life on their own terms.
PAUL CLONTS, LCSW
With over a decade of experience, I offer compassionate, down-to-earth counseling for teens and adults navigating mental health and relationship challenges. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and supportive therapies to help clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life. My goal—especially with teens—is to make them feel human, seen, and truly understood, while gently encouraging new, healthier ways to cope and grow through life’s challenges.
Teen counseling can support a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, academic pressure, low self-esteem, family conflict, peer issues, and trauma. It provides teens with tools to manage stress and develop healthy coping skills.
Yes, sessions are private. However, therapists are required by law to report any concerns related to harm or safety. Otherwise, what your teen shares stays between them and their counselor to build trust and openness.
The duration varies depending on the teen’s goals and needs. Some teens may benefit from a few months of sessions, while others continue longer-term support. Progress is regularly evaluated to ensure therapy remains helpful and focused.
