How Does Teen Counseling Works?

Initial Assessment

I start with an initial assessment to get to know your teen, their challenges, goals, and what kind of support they might need. The first few minutes include both the teen and a parent or guardian to provide comfort and context. Afterward, the teen will have the rest of the session to talk one-on-one and share what’s happening in their life in a comfortable, confidential space.

Building Trust

Trust and rapport are at the heart of sound therapy. I create a safe, judgment-free space where teens feel truly heard, respected, and supported. With open conversations, humor, attention to detail, and steady guidance, I help teens learn healthy ways to cope, express themselves confidently, and strengthen their relationships at home, school, and in everyday life.

Ongoing Support

Therapy continues with regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions, depending on your teen’s needs and progress. Each session builds on the one before and is guided by goals we create together. Because life can be unpredictable, we stay flexible, adjusting our focus as things arise. The aim is lasting growth, emotional resilience, and helping teens build the confidence and tools they need to navigate life on their own terms.
